My name is Glynis Scalase and I work for MENCAP in Spalding.
This is a brief introduction about us and what we do.
We provide supported living services and a person centred approached to the people we support with learning disabilities. We support them with everyday tasks and promote their life skills and independence and we treat everyone with dignity and respect.
I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of MENCAP to thank all local businesses, our local councillors, including Gary Taylor, Elizabeth Sneath, Sally Slade and James Avery for their support and help from their councillor budgets, for our recent Christmas party at Pinchbeck Village Hall,
Everyone had an amazing time at this party, which included live music and a fantastic raffle and we were honoured to have our MP John Hayes spend time with us and draw the raffle for us and he impressed us with some funky moves on the dance floor.
The funds which we made from the evening will go towards a day out for MENCAP users in the spring and we will provide different activities which will range from educational to knitting and providing historic books and art equipment.
This will not only be enjoyable but also promotes sensory needs, socialising and life skills.
We would like you to know that these special events truly help towards making a difference to the people we support.
Thank you all again.
