LETTER: Sorry if you were disappointed

I am sorry that some residents were disappointed with the Remembrance Service held at Pinchbeck this year but the timings and format were exactly the same as in previous years.

There is a parade through the village, church service including the Last Post and two minutes’ silence at 11am followed by the laying of wreaths at the War Memorial. This is followed by a parade back to the village hall.

Of course anyone not wishing to participate in all or part of the proceedings can lay their own wreaths and observe the silence at the memorial at the appropriate time.

I would also add that many towns and villages hold their services at different times, indeed many in the afternoon, but all, including Pinchbeck, are held with the utmost respect and remembrance for those who gave their lives for us all.
