LETTER: Saddened by demise of Lloyd Loom

I’ve just seen a copy of The Voice and have read about the ‘demise’ of Lloyd Loom.

I worked at Lloyd Loom from 1995-2003, both on the shop floor and as a junior manager.

I am shocked but not surprised at the company’s treatment of Darren Smith and presumably a number of other employees.

During my employment at Lloyd Loom I considered Darren to be a very hard working, loyal employee who was always available and willing to lend a hand whenever help was needed.

I am disgusted at the company’s failure to meet their obligations to Darren and other hard-working employees.

Mr M Walker was MD during the time I worked at Lloyd Loom, a time when employees were appreciated and looked after.

Martin Aaron
(ex quality control, finishing and despatch manager)
