LETTER: Refreshing to hear of future vision

Mike Whitley’s letter to you on February 3 completely misses the point of Sir John Hayes’ article and feels like it’s looking to pick a petty fight.
It’s easy to give in to personal vendetta, but misrepresenting Sir John’s words just isn’t right.
For example, the article, which I assume Mr Whitley read, doesn’t attack the Scots and Welsh, it makes a very reasonable point about devolved politicians not doing right by their people over COVID. After all, Sturgeon and her parallel in Wales, locked their countries down when the PM saved England from a winter lockdown.
Honestly, I’m not sure if he has taken the care to pay attention, but most of the issues Mr Whitley raises have been addressed by Sir John nationally and locally.
A week never passes when the excellent local MP is not published positively in the press.
It’s ridiculous to criticise local or national politicians on issues irrelevant when they recap their work as local representatives.
Frankly, I’m happy to hear about what our MP has done at home and in Westminster, it was refreshing to hear his vision for the year to come.
