I found your story “Spalding shop: ‘Staff must speak Polish too'” (February 2) interesting, but it seemed to lack the essential information that the supermarket in question states on its window “Polish Food & Grocery” (pictured above).
Unfortunately the photo that accompanies your article (pictured, right) is taken from such an angle that this is not visible and, in addition, there are some crates obscuring those words.
In this day and age, it’s possible that some people might misinterpret your story as showing discrimination against British people, whereas it looks like knowledge of Polish is probably a pretty essential skill for a Polish food and grocery store.
