LETTER: These people give cyclists a bad name

I have to agree with this week’s letter. I’m a keen cyclists and cycle to work every day, I never use the paths.

I always sit in traffic and don’t jump lights.

But on my way to and from work pretty much all the cyclists I pass are on the paths, jumping lights and traffic.

It’s these people that give us a bad name.

One day someone will get seriously hurt by a cyclist passing too close.

The cycle paths in Spalding are too short and don’t cover all areas but when they are used, cyclist have no awareness of motorist around them and think they have right of way just cutting across junctions.

Also many cyclist don’t have lights and with nights coming in earlier this makes the paths even more unsafe for them to use.
