LETTER: Incensed at parking rises

I am, and I’m sure others will be, incensed after reading your report of the huge rises in car parking soon to be imposed in Spalding.
Percentage rises of the scale proposed are disgusting and allied to the imposition of unwanted, technically advanced meters.
The recent thoughts of Parliament’s Transport Committee have recently realised that car parking charges are major factors considered by the public when considering shopping in town centre shops, restaurants and cafes etc.
Is it any wonder that most will go to out of town areas which are bereft of further taxation in the form of excessive parking charges?
The continued death of our town centre continues.
