LETTER: I understand why knitting was ruined

I can fully understand why someone has destroyed those ghastly knitted creations draped over tree stumps along the riverside.

From the first day I drove past and saw them I thought ‘what a mess’. They do not look nice at all.

This is as bad as those going around with a spray can painting graffiti on walls, except these can easily be removed and should be.

If you wish to put something in place to make the riverside a nicer place to be, then let’s see the tulips along the roadsides once again, with their vibrant bright colours.

Or you could clean up the litter that is around every street corner instead of adding to it.
