LETTER: I also know which way I will vote

Last Friday as normal I picked up my copy of The Voice.

I was immediately struck by the imposing dual page local election advertising addition attached to main paper.

Wow, was my first thoughts when seeing all the current incumbent elected members of the main ruling body as well as a few hopefuls – stood on a grand staircase in what appears to be an imposing building.

As I proceeded to peruse the said addition to my weekly read my thoughts began to think maybe I should feel blessed that myself and many others are in the safe hands of these well meaning public servants, after all we hear so many political horror stories from other parts of these great islands we live on, as is often said is it not better to vote for the devil you know than…..well I’ll leave the rest to your imagination.

For some time now I for one have been wrestling with some major decisions in life which is no big thing as far as it goes, one of the more minor ones has been ‘to vote or not to vote’ and taking into consideration all the recent shenanigans my mind was all but made up and I’ll leave it at that.

Once finished reading I put the paper down and headed outside to do a few jobs.

By chance I met a gentleman heading to my door bearing leaflets – the local Independent election hopeful.

Thank you Lord you answered my prayer the ballot paper will not be wasted after all.

Please note no local election candidates were harmed in the compiling of this letter although to date I have not seen any in the flesh bar one.
