LETTER – Help on offer during crisis

I have been asked to promote help from two volunteers from the Royal Naval Association and a few volunteers from the Royal British Legion offering help and assistance wherever needed to residents in Spalding.

With the current issue with the COVID-19, we feel is it important to help and support the vulnerable people in our community. If residents of Spalding feel isolated and need help to get items to them as well as needing some assistance, these volunteers are prepared to do what they can to help you.

Maybe you will need some shopping, medication or getting a word to someone, we want to help.

We would like to help and check in with you, if you need anything and to see everything is ok.

We are all aware that ‘a call once a day to see how you are doing can make such a difference to someone on their own’.

Mike Bristow and Terry Day from the RNA and Graham Hewitt and some other volunteers from the Royal British Legion have use of a Land Rover Discovery and a choice of two trailers, an open one, with “canvas” cover for about half a ton and a sheep trailer for heavier loads.

If any organisation, or individual wants a load moved, from shop to food bank, helping with getting food to different organisations, they are both happy to help with anything or loan a trailer. They are asking for donations towards fuel.

They have also said if volunteers need anything just to call the numbers below.

Mike Bristow – [email protected] 01945 440697; Terry Day – [email protected] 01775 723165 or 07729 707129; Graham Hewitt – [email protected]; 0950 464337

We are prepared to work together as a team if the transport is required or we are prepared to volunteer as individuals.

Please do give us a call, we are all more than happy to help you in any way we can.

Call me on 07779 895388 or email me [email protected].

Keep well, stay inside and keep safe.
