LETTER: Filled with dismay over 100 trains

We were filled with dismay after reading the article in the Voice regarding the 100+ additional trains passing through Spalding on the five Saturdays commencing February 28.

Since the beginning of the year we are experiencing considerable noise and vibration from the additional freight services using the line on a regular basis both day and night (the night services causing lack of sleep).

Despite frequent correspondence with Network Rail and discussion with John Hayes we have not had any satisfactory resolution.

Additionally, Spalding will stand still on the Saturdays in question, people will be reluctant to travel into town which must have a knock-on effect on the shops, cafes etc.
