LETTER: Do visit food festival

I have in the past been vocal in my desire to see continued support for our local independent businesses. This perhaps has its roots in things such as working for a local pub or building websites for a myriad of businesses in the area, each with a story to tell. Today I am once again submitting to you a request, in the hope that you don’t miss out on an unparalleled local food experience.

Head over to the Spalding and South Holland Food Festival, on August 29 and 30. I urge you to not miss the opportunity to experience the culinary delights of our district and our county by taking your friends or family and helping to make it a weekend to remember.

If food is your thing, there will be some of the region’s top chefs including Lincolnshire’s celebrity chef Rachel Green, along with a vast array of food and drink. If you just fancy a day out with family or friends there is music on stage, entertainment for kids and a wide range of stalls.

We all appreciate more then ever the importance of supporting our local events, and how as a community we benefit from the privilege of having so many people strive together to help the town thrive. I hope to see you there.
