LETTER: Disgusted with the DVLA

I am absolutely disgusted with the DVLA.

My son woke up to find his car had been clamped outside our home. The reason they say is that his car is not taxed.

After a couple of checks, the DVLA recognised they have made a huge mistake – my son’s car is taxed.

My son rang 101 to let the police know and they told him to pay the bill to get his car released. He did under protest and the clamp was removed shortly after.

Yet to get his money back he has been told he will have to wait approximately a month.

They can clamp and remove the clamp in minutes and realise and correct a mistake in minutes, yet when it comes to money, it takes a month to get your money back.

The bill, by the way, was for £320. He only works part time so this is a lot of money to him.

Payments are made online in seconds, refunds can also be sent in seconds.

Rip off Britain – I’ll say!
