LETTER: Comment was meant to be insulting

In your August 22 edition, you published a long letter from a politician, in which he called Leave voters ‘hard-right Little Englanders’.

That was obviously intended to be insulting, but I think it went further, far enough to be considered a hate crime worthy of prosecution.

I wouldn’t waste police time on making a complaint, but someone needs to explain to this poor fellow that the re-runs of The Thick Of It he has been watching are a TV satire, not a training video.

More to the point, why do you keep printing tedious letters about national concerns like Brexit?

The Voice is a local paper, we pick it up to read about local matters, there is so much local activity worthy of information and debate, why concern yourself with matters covered ad nauseum in the national press?
