LETTER: Closure is accident waiting to happen

I note the need for the road closure on London Road but don’t know how the contractors and Lincolnshire County Council Highways can think the arrangement at the junction with Haverfield Road is anything but an accident waiting to happen!

When exiting Haverfield Road you are directed to one lane traffic – the same lane that vehicles will be turning into from London Road and if they are turning left around the corner onto Haverfield Road drivers won’t see each other until they have hit each other head on!

There is no suggestion to traffic leaving Haverfield Road that they should look left either – all the temporary signage suggests the road is closed to the left and to turn right and carry on.

At least it isn’t near a school – wait it is – get your act together before someone gets injured.

Also how can LCC highways allow a skip to be placed right on the corner of Love Lane and Cowbit Road when cars shouldn’t park there? Maybe because it is hidden by all the vans that also park within 10m of the junction/on the white zig zags – both issues known by the highways and Police respectively but nothing done.

Why do they allow these dangers to exist?

Should the people responsible for overseeing road safety really be in their jobs?
