LETTER: Check how many candidates you can vote for

This week, whilst out and about campaigning to be re-elected as Conservative district councillors for the Moulton, Weston and Cowbit ward, it came to our attention that several people we spoke to were confused in respect of how many candidates they can vote for in the forthcoming district election.

We’ve spoken to several people about local issues but one worrying concern has come to light.

It would appear there is confusion when either attending the polling station to vote or voting by postal vote because some voters didn’t realise they can vote for more than one Conservative district candidate.

In fact, on speaking to one particular lady she informed us that she had always made a choice between the three Conservative candidates then only voted for one.

This letter is just to remind all voters in South Holland intending to vote in the district election taking place on the same date as the general election on May 7 that the voter must find out if the ward they live in is a one-member, two-member or three-member ward and then vote accordingly.

As I mentioned earlier, the Moulton ward is a three-member ward so our electorate can vote for three Conservative candidates – not just one.
