I completely agree with the letter about Pilgrim Hospital.
I myself have witnessed first hand this treatment when my husband was admitted into Palliative Care.
As a man in his seventies he was treated with total disrespect as a human being.
He was left unwashed even though he repeatedly asked for nurse to come and tend to his needs.
His commode was left unemptied till the contents spilled onto the floor, then he was told off for this.
The patient is definitely seen as a burden and a nuisance, I only hope that someone will take notice of these comments and this will lead to further investigation into the culture of this hospital, where it seems unfortunately it already has a bad name.
