Let’s recognise area’s volunteers

The Pride of South Holland Awards looks to celebrate our area’s amazing volunteers such as the Wombles of Spalding Common’s Deanne Gough and Andy Tilly.

They picked up the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2023.
Now the town’s Woodhead Brothers are looking for volunteers for this year’s category.
The company, which is part of Morrison’s, has sponsored the award for the first time this year.
Woodhead Brothers Community Champion Tina Ellis said: “Sponsoring this award gives us great satisfaction as it truly recognises and celebrates the importance of everyone involved in every element throughout our community.
“It is because of the commitment and generosity of volunteers, that we can continue to help make the community a better place for everyone.
“Volunteers no matter who, where or what they do, are our community’s unsung heroes and the heartbeat for improving the area we live in.”
The Pride of South Holland Awards is a joint effort between Tulip Events Management and The Spalding and South Holland Voice.
Awards organiser, Jan Whitbourn said: “It is so good to have Woodhead Brothers supporting this very important category.
“It’s important to make people appreciated for their service.
“Deanne and Andy Tilley work so hard in the community going out each week clearing everyone’s rubbish.
“They so deserved their award and have continued to work hard.
“We have so many great volunteers in our community, I am excited to see who wins the Award this year.”
