Leading county councillor to address Spalding and District Area Chamber of Commerce meeting

Lincolnshire County Council’s executive member for highways, transport and IT is the guest speaker at Spalding and District Area Chamber of Commerce’s members’ annual meeting.

Coun Richard Davies will give an update to ongoing improvements to infrastructure in Spalding and South Holland, including road networks and superfast broadband.
He is also chairman of the Lincolnshire Strategic Transport Board, which seeks to contribute to developing a transport network that promotes economic growth and prosperity.

Chamber president Phil Scarlett said: “We are delighted to have Coun Davies speak at our annual meeting.
“As an expert in transport and infrastructure he is well placed to bring us up to date with all matters related to keeping Spalding and South Holland connected to the rest of the UK and Europe.

“The ongoing improvement of our road networks and superfast broadband connectivity are not only important for the successful development of the larger food packing and logistics businesses in the area. They are also key to improving tourism, retail footfall, technology, skills and investment into the town to help ensure our future economic prosperity.”

Those attending the meeting at Broad Street Business Centre in Broad Street, Spalding, on Tuesday, July 7 (5.45pm) will also receive an update on current Spalding Area Chamber activities, as well as other membership matters.

Chamber members are also invited to put forward other concerns that they wish area council members to consider. Interested members of the local business community are also welcome to attend.
