Spalding Town 2nd XI put in a decent showing against a strong Orton Park 2nds in the South Lincs and Border League Division Two.
That’s despite the home side posting 281 for 7 from their 45 overs, courtesy largely of their numbers three, four and five, Andy Philips, Nick Bradbury and Ethan Debell.
Bradbury hit a commanding 94 while Philips chipped in 45 and Debell 42 as Orton set an imposing total.
Thomas De Camps took 2 for 52 for Spalding and there was a wicket each for Macey Andrews (1 for 29), Billy Gallagher (1 for 29), Josh Lawrence (1 for 47) and Robert Seymour (1 for 48).
Spalding 2nds have struggled with the bat lately, but they made a decent fist of the reply, closing their 45 overs on 201 to earn eight points from the game.
Opener Yuvraj Ranault set things under way with 33 before Lawrence hit a fine 70 and Harry Birch a fluent 50.
