Laura looks to make a splash

A professional mermaid is looking to make a splash as the Ambassador for the Spalding Flower Parade.

Laura Hudson, of Quadring, says she remembers going to the parade as a young child.

“It was only half an hour’s drive away, but felt like we were going on an adventure for the day and I was always mesmerised, especially with the Flower Queen’s float, I just couldn’t wait to see what they were wearing!”

Laura has an incredibly varied CV. Alongside appearances on TV shows such as Ninja Warrior and The Void, she’s a Bikeability instructor, a diving instructor, a stilt walker and runs an Etsy shop selling crafted gifts, including a line of eco-friendly products, a result of her fashion degree.

As a professional mermaid, she can hold her breath for five minutes and regularly takes part in experiences for young children.

She also works for Transported Arts to deliver arts within South Holland.

That’s on top of being a keen baker and cyclist and runner, including being an ambassador for the Tough Mudder events for the past five years.

Laura said: “I’m a prime example of how you can grow as a person, take every opportunity that comes your way, and live life with no regrets.

“Being a role model, inspiring others to follow their dreams, and have a platform to be a voice for change and help make a difference.”

Anyone over 18 looking to apply can contact Jan Whitbourn on 07779 895388 or email [email protected] or contact Richard Rush at The Voice on [email protected] and an entry form will be sent for you to fill in.
