Late winner squeezes Harrox into cup final

A late Luke Gardner goal saw Moulton Harrox through to tonight’s (Thursday’s) ChromaSport Peterborough and District League Cup final.
Kev Nottingham’s side will be hoping for a cup double when they take on Warboys Town at Yaxley United’s ground (7.30pm) in their final match of the season.
Moulton took a firm grip of last Saturday’s semi-final at Crowland Town midway through the first half.
Joe Townsend put them ahead on 21 minutes and Ashley Coddington soon doubled their money.
But Crowland quickly hit back and went on to level things up through Harry Grigas and Lawrence Stewart.
However, Moulton – who had suffered the disappointment of having to concede the league title five days earlier – were not to be denied.
Gardner popped up in the 83rd minute to seal their passage to a final against Warboys, who saw off Whittlesey Athletic Reserves 3-1 in the other last-four tie.
Warboys finished just behind runners-up Lincs Junior Cup winners Harrox in the Premier Division table.
Crowland had thumped Oakham United 8-2 last Wednesday to book their sem-final spot.
Grigas (2) and Stewart were on the mark then too, along with Ethan Allen, Joe Cole, Danny Firth, Jordan Kirchin and Callum Pratt.
