Late goal flurry earns victory for Swifts

Moulton Harrox’s hopes of moving top of the GCE Hire Fleet Peterborough League Premier Division were halted in solid style. Early leaders Netherton United dished out a 3-0 drubbing to hand Moulton their first defeat of the season.

Crowland Town stayed in touch with the early front-runners thanks to a 4-0 success at Chatteris Town. Harry Tidswell scored a goal in both halves, with Harry Grigas and Adam Blackbird also on the mark.

In Division One, Kyle Compton was man of the match as Long Sutton Athletic maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a 5-1 victory over Netherton Reserves. He scored once, to go with efforts from Corey Compton, Jordan Keeble, Matas Vaidilauskis and the visiting centre back.

It was a day to forget for Crowland Reserves, who crashed 9-1 at home to Stamford Reserves. Haydon Henderson notched their solitary response.

Craig Pack scored two of Sutton Bridge United’s goals in a 3-3 draw at Huntingdon Town Reserves in Division Two, while South Lincs Swifts scored four times in the last 15 minutes to secure a 5-1 win against Ramsey Town Reserves after Ed Barnes had given them a third-minute lead.

Tydd crashed 6-2 at home to Stanground Cardea Sports.

Substitute Piotr Wisniewski was the Long Sutton Reserves match winner when he came off the bench to score twice to secure a 2-1 win at Alconbury Weald in Division Three.

Whaplode Drove Rovers Reserves had a nightmare day, crashing 10-0 at home to Thorpe Wood Rangers.

It was the reverse in Division Four where Fosdkye-based Littleport United took their tally from their last three games to 28 with a 9-0 drubbing of Thorpe Wood Reserves. Substitute Alfie Cato got a hat-trick.
