Large fire between Holbeach Drove and Gedney Hill

Firefighters are dealing with a vehicle that’s caught fire between Holbeach Drove and Gedney Hill.

The incident happened shortly after 12.30pm today (Tuesday, September 7) on Long Lane.

An eyewitness who did not wish to be named said they’d heard an explosion followed by flames being seen.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue received a call at 12:31 to Long Lane in the Gedney Hill/Holbeach Drove area, to reports of a tractor fire with a trailer attached that had straw bales on.

A spokesman for Linconlshire Fire and Rescue, said: “Our crews from Holbeach and Spalding along with a crew from Dogsthorpe in Cambridgeshire, attended initially.

“Holbeach and Spalding are still in attendance making progress to extinguish the straw involved using four breathing apparatus and two hose reels.”
