Larder money donated by NFU

A food bank has been donated £3,200 by the Spalding branch of NFU Mutual Agents.

The donation to the Sutton Bridge Community Larder is part of a national £1.92m ‘Agency Giving Fund’.
It was nominated for the money which will enable it to continue to provide emergency food aid to the people from Sutton Bridge and surrounding parishes.
The larder operates from premises at Unit Eight on the Railway Lane Industrial Estate and is open 6pm to 8pm on Mondays and 10am to 1pm on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Ken Knock, trustee at Sutton Bridge Community Larder, said: “The trustees are delighted to have been nominated by the Spalding NFU Mutual Agency for support to one of Lincolnshire’s most impoverished communities through the NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund.
“We intend to allocate the donation towards our infrastructure costs so that the charity can continue to operate, helping ensure no one in the community faces the prospect of having nothing to eat.”
Andrew Cross, partner at the NFU Mutual Spalding Agency, said: “We are extremely proud to have nominated Sutton Bridge Community Larder for this donation and are delighted to be able to support the vital contribution they make to our community.
“NFU Mutual’s Agency Giving Fund was first created in 2020 in response to the pandemic, and this ongoing support is helping to change lives, providing both emergency support and building long-term resilience.”
