Knights to invade Ayscoughfee Hall

Medieval forces are set to invade Ayscoughfee this weekend.

The Knights of Skirbeck are taking over the historic hall for a re-enactment weekend on Saturday and Sunday (July 6 and 7) free to the public from 10.30am to 4pm.
The group have in the last two years held weekends in Holbeach but this year are working with South Holland District Council to star around the 1450s-built hall’s gardens.
It’s set to show what life was like in the medieval ages including armoury displays, craft stalls and a chance to meet those doing the jobs surrounding such a village.
Ayscoughfee Museum manager Julia Knight said: “We’re really proud to be able to hold such a fantastic medieval re-enactment, it’s not often you get to feel as though you’ve stepped back in time but this event is sure to help give all visitors a glimpse into what life would’ve been like them if they’d been born 700 years ago!”
Knights of Skirbeck representative Dave Bedford said: “We’d like to encourage as many people as possible to come along to the event.
“There’s no tickets so you can just come down on the day and experience an immersive historical experience – see you there!”
