Knights look to new year

Pinchbeck United twice came from behind against Whittlesey Athletic on Saturday December 28 but ultimately lost 3-2.

And after the 4-0 defeat against Holbeach United it looks to have ended any faint hopes the Knights may have had for the play offs after heading into Christmas on the back of two wins.
Twice Flynn Slater strikes got them back into Saturday’s game, but a second half Ollie Gale goal earned Whittlesey the win.
Pinchbeck went in to the Christmas period on a high as a 4-2 win at Leiston U23s was a second successive victory.
JJ Ward scored twice in the first half, with Luke Cullen also on target as the Knights went in at the break 3-1 up.
Taylor Jaine then added a fourth late on.
In a new year’s message to Pinchbeck fans, manager Lewis Thorogood said: “I am proud we have adapted to a new league and the challenges it poses following our relegation back in April.
“We have dropped points this season from positions of winning or drawing and we must strive to rectify this, but I see this as a project to re-build this club with a group who want success and must learn quickly.
“Sometimes I have to realise that the group and ethos is first and we are still learning.
“I know if we stick together with the next six, 12 and 18 months we will bring success to the club.”
