Kindergarten aims to give children ‘home from home’

Providing a home from home where youngsters can feel safe and happy is the key to the success of Munchkins Kindergarten.
The setting, based at St Peter’s Lodge, a converted house in Priory Road, Spalding, caters for youngsters aged from six weeks up to eight years and is the holder of the healthy childcare award and has a “good” Ofsted rating.
Munchkins was set up by Rachel Beresford eight years ago when she decided she couldn’t bear to leave her own children to go back to work as a travel agent and decided to retrain and open her own nursery.
It is now taking on for places in September, providing Early Years funded spaces for eligible two-year-olds and all three and four-year-olds.
Children who attend can look forward to a welcoming and homely environment, with large baby room, tots room, toddler room and pre-school space to cater for children at all stages of development.
There is also a large garden and home cooked meals are served daily.
Rachel said she aims to continue to provide a varied curriculum by accessing up to date training for all staff.
She added: “Our aim is to maintain a high standard of childcare in a professional yet welcoming atmosphere.
“We work with children and their families to provide the best care for every individual child.”
