Killer movie rarities and free comic books this Saturday

A Weston comic shop is gearing up to give away 1,000 free Halloween comics this weekend and will reveal for sale a whole host of collectable horror items.

Strange Apparitions at Baytree Garden Centre is one of the thousands of local comic shops around the world celebrating the second largest event in the comic book industry on Saturday, October 26: Halloween ComicFest (HCF).

Each year, thousands of participating shops celebrate Halloween by giving away free comic books to millions of fans, introducing them to the wonders of comics.

This is the second year that Strange Apparitions will be hosting the event.

“Last year was so successful, we’ve doubled the amount of free comics that we’ll be giving away to 1000,” said Strange Apparitions owner Alex Hunt.

“There’s also an amazing selection of rare action figures and comics that I’ve been withholding for months from franchises Jaws, Friday the 13th, Resident Evil, Universal Monsters and lots more.

“They will all be put out for sale at 10am to whoever can grab them first, it adds to the fun. The shop will be decorated, and we will this year have our own exclusive merchandise for sale that we are really excited about.”

Free comics include: Iron Man, Ghost Rider, Sonic the Hedgehog, Pokemon, and Boba Fett, with no purchase necessary.

Halloween ComicFest kicks off at 10am and runs until 5pm at Strange Apparitions at Baytree Garden Centre, Spalding, PE12 6JU on Saturday.

The comics and collectables shop recently teamed up with Spalding Picture Framing to hold the town’s first Drink and Draw event.
