Kilby comes out on top in North Level match

Andrew Kilby and Steve Borrett battled it out for the top spot at Sunday’s Tydd Gote Angling Club match on the North Level at Main Road.

It was Kilby who just edged the competition it with 9lb 5oz courtesy of some bonus quality roach on the pole at 11 metres.

Throughout the match it was touch and go as Borrett found small rudd on and off all day to his far bank waggler line.

He put 8lb 3oz on the scales to push him close.

Grzegorz Chalat maintained his fine run of form in recent competitions with 6lb 7oz on the long pole.

He just outscored the evergreen Archie Greenwood who despite predator trouble, eased into fourth with 6lb 6oz from the concrete.

Steve Fox was next weight putting 4lb 5oz of good sized roach into his net.

* Mike Asker picked up the win in the Wednesday Open on Main Road.
He took the win with a haul of 11lb 8oz.
Dan Abbott was second having caught 8lb 10oz, enough to see off the challenge of John Taylor who was third with 8lb 2z.
