Keeping up with the changing face of beauty at Academy salon

Perfection Hair and Beauty Salon, University Academy Holbeach

Park Road, Holbeach, PE12 7PU

Pampering yourself can be a costly business but a visit to the Perfection salon at University Academy Holbeach could save you pounds on a range of luxury treatments as well as help the next generation of beauty professionals take the first steps in their chosen career.

The beauty industry continues to be a booming market in the UK – and University Academy Holbeach is helping the hairdressers and beauty therapists of the future by offering a range of courses from its fully equipped teaching salon at its campus in Park Road, Holbeach.
Just eight years after initially opening its doors, Perfection has grown from just 14 students to 90, and now offers evening classes for adults looking to gain new qualifications.
And those looking for a new hairstyle, beauty treatment or massage, can benefit with massive discounts on the prices you would find elsewhere.
All the students are closely supervised by the team of highly professional and well-trained staff.
The teaching team is made up of department head Jayne Matthews-Bedford, hair, beauty and barbering teacher Dee Bacon, colour specialist and hairdressing teacher Lucy Benstead, beauty therapy teacher Lois Howard and part-time technician Angela Breeze
Dee Bacon has a Level 4 qualification in barbering and Lucy Benstead a L’Oreal specialist qualification in colouring. All staff complete courses to update their skills annually.
The salon uses L’Oreal and Dermalogica products mainly, as well as an extensive retail range of professional products.
Qualifications offered are:

  • Level 1 hairdressing and beauty therapy
  • Level 2 hairdressing, barbering and beauty therapy
  • Level 3 hairdressing, barbering and beauty therapy.

The Academy also offers apprenticeships in hairdressing, barbering and beauty therapy.
Many of the students from previous courses have gone on to successful careers in spas and on cruise ships.
Jayne said: “We have small student groups so that everyone gets maximum attention and support, all our facilities are excellent and we only use professional products.
“Customer service is important to us and all our clients come back after their initial visit.
“We are always looking to the future and to grow, developing new courses for the changing needs of hair and beauty.
“We always welcome new clients and potential students to come along and have a look at what’s on offer.”
The salon is open 9am to 4.40pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9am to 7.30pm Tuesday and Thursday.
Tuesday evenings are Level 3 sessions where high fashion colouring, cutting and styling is offered.
Call the number below for information or to book.
* There will be an open evening at the salon on June 30, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm for anyone interested in finding out more about what is on offer.
