Judges visit Long Sutton

The East Midlands In Bloom judges visited Long Sutton last week.

John Constable and Emma Schofield were escorted on their tour of the town by Bloom members Christine Palacio-White and Kay Jenkinson.
A spokesman for Long Sutton In Bloom said: “The judges were full of admiration for the town centre and the support that is obviously given by the town’s traders.
“Another less colourful, but very impressive, feature shown was the recent hedge laying around the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust’s Shrubberies Meadow.
“The Long Sutton Men’s Shed were also recognised for their contribution in making the new bench at the Co-op garden.
“Pretty flowers are not the sole criteria in the competition, it takes into account everything that makes a positive impact on a community.”
Chairman Mrs Jenkinson said: “The Bloomers have really made an effort this year to make our town one to be proud of. We do not do this voluntary work to win prizes.
“John and Emma were very complimentary, so fingers crossed we get a good result in the competition.”
