Joof’s Tigers stun Harrox thanks to Matt’s memorable hat-trick

Matt Cawthorn struck an amazing hat-trick as Holbeach United Reserves stunned South Holland rivals Moulton Harrox 4-1 in the ChromaSport Peterborough League on Saturday.

An own goal from Ashley Coddington completed the shock Premier Division success at Carter’s Park, helping Omar Joof’s Tigers jump off the bottom of the table – at the expense of neighbours Crowland Town.

Fellow Premier Division side Pinchbeck United made impressive progress in the PFA Senior Cup as they swept aside Peterborough Sports Reserves 4-1.

Doubles from Adam Abell and Tom Gosling fired Ian Dunn to glory at Knight Street, as Pinchbeck remain on track to win back the trophy they won in 2012.

In Division One, Ryan Jones’ strike wasn’t enough for Long Sutton Athletic as they were handed a 2-1 reverse at Baston.

Sutton Bridge United were beaten by the same score at home to new leaders Ketton after having Ben English sent off.

Matt Eaton notched for hosts Bridge at Memorial Park, but they couldn’t quite pinch a point.

There was better news for Moulton Harrox Reserves, as they jumped off the foot with a 2-0 Broad Lane win over ICA Sports Reserves.

In Division Two, Spalding United Reserves are back on top after thrashing Stamford Bels 5-2 at the Sir Halley.

Doubles from Edgaras Buzas and Jake Farrell inspired the Tulips, with Jamie Cartlidge rounding off the rout.

In the same division, Corban Oldham was hero and villain for Crowland Town Reserves in their 1-1 draw with Pinchbeck Reserves. Oldham scored and was sent off at Snowden Field, with Liam Barnett replying for Pinchbeck.

In Division Three, Tom Elderkin and Andrew Williams scored to give Spalding Town a 2-0 win over Tydd St Mary. Town did have Ryan Plant sent off in a game that saw them sponsored by Complete Bathroom Solutions Limited for the first time.
Ben Norman (2) and Mark Robson were on target for Sutton Bridge Reserves in Division Four, but they lost 7-3 at Oundle Reserves.

Long Sutton Reserves and Holbeach Bank were also beaten, going down 3-0 to ICA Sports B and Rutland DR respectively.

In Division Five, Jordan Kirchin struck to give Whaplode Drove a welcome 1-0 home win over AFC Stanground Reserves.

But Tydd St Mary lost 4-1 at home to Parkway Eagles Reserves, despite a goal from Daniel Fines.
