Join in the fun at Jerry Green’s summer show

Looking for a fun day out for all the family? Go along to a summer show with a difference in Algarkirk on Sunday.

Jerry Green Dog Rescue is hosting a dog-themed summer show at its south Lincolnshire centre from 11.30am to 4.30pm. It’s only £1 entry per adult and under-16s go free.

The event will feature a fun dog show and a chance to meet some of the Jerry Green dogs looking for forever homes.

Visitors are encouraged to take their dog along and have a go at the fun dog show from 11.30am. Judging will begin at midday and entry costs £1 per dog, per class. There will be 15 different classes, including Junior Jerry’s, Child Handler, Best Veteran (eight years plus), Coolest Pup (16 weeks to one year) and Best Fancy Dress.

“Whether you’re a dog owner or not, our summer show has something for everyone,” said Jo Hickson, centre manager. “This year our team is excited to welcome both old and new visitors to what we hope will be our best event to date.”

The kids’ activity zone will keep little ones entertained, with activities to teach them about dog body language and behaviour; there will also be colouring in competitions, educational games and a chance to make treat boxes for the rescue dogs.

Children can also have a go at scanning Jet the stuffed dog to learn about the importance of micro-chipping.

There will be a variety of stalls selling everything from dog treats to jewellery and hot and cold refreshments will be available.

Jo added: “You can speak to our friendly team about rehoming a dog, take a look at our stalls and enter your pet into the dog show – all for just £1 entry!

“All of the proceeds will help us to look after rescue dogs in our care before finding them the perfect new home.”
