Johnson Community Hospital offers help to overstretched A&E departments

With A&E departments currently under extreme pressure, Johnson Community Hospital in Pinchbeck is extending its services to help cope with the demand.

From Friday until the end of January, patients of all ages with minor illnesses will be able to seek help and advice from the Johnson’s minor injuries unit.

Minor illnesses could include:

  • ear and throat infections
  • minor skin infections/rashes
  • minor eye conditions/infections
  • stomach upsets
  • coughs, colds and flu-like symptoms.

The minor injuries unit is led by a team of experienced healthcare professionals and is a more appropriate alternative to using A&E services – leaving A&E for those who really need it.

The unit is open from 8am to 6pm, seven days a week, and it will continue to treat patients with minor injuries as normal.

Waiting times will often be shorter than those of A&E departments.
