Jersey boy Kieran Rudd secures impressive win treble

Holbeach lad Kieran Rudd enjoyed a trip to remember last Sunday as he romped to a hat-trick of motocross wins in Jersey.

Racing on the beach-like track on something of a clifftop, the ten-year old raced with an impressive sea view backdrop.

But it was his performance that stole the show in the junior category. Competing on a four-stroke bike instead of the quicker two-stroke machine that was being used by all of his opponents, the

Team TRM young gun was at an immediate disadvantage.

Race one saw him slowest off the grid, so he had some catching up to do. Undeterred, he worked his way through the field to take a fine win.

Rudd started even more slowly in race two, but once again battled back to hunt down the leader – before pipping him on the line by the narrowest of margins.

Slow starting in race three once again, the youngster put in his best showing as he roared to a dominant victory to complete his hat-trick.

Rudd will be joined by his brother Ashley at Chatteris this Sunday for the final round of the Peterborough Motocross Club’s series.

Both have chances of winning their category.
