Jean’s striding into Fresh Footsteps

Fresh footsteps, Spalding. Ad feature. NAMES: Jean PollardFeet are often neglected and taken for granted, but they can be a source of great discomfort if they are not properly looked after.

But many people don’t know where to turn to solve those awkward problems such as calluses, verrucas, fungal nail infections and cracked heels.

But Jean Pollard is hoping she can help with her new Fresh Footsteps business – either in the comfort of customers’ own homes or at her new clinic at Steffen’s salon in Spalding’s Sheepmarket.

After a career in social services and social care, Jean retrained as a foot health practitioner last year.

She said: “The work was very intense and it got to a point where I realised I couldn’t do it for the next ten years. I’ve always loved feet so I did a diploma at the College of Foot Health Practitioners in Birmingham and started the business last October.

“I now go to a care home in Bourne one day a week, I’m at the clinic at Steffens on Tuesdays and Fridays and visit clients in their own homes on Wednesday and Thursday.

“I haven’t been doing it a year yet, but it is building up nicely. I particularly enjoy the care home and they look forward to it.

“As well as treating foot health problems, I also do a mean foot massage and can offer LCN Wilde-Pedique, a cosmetic treatment with a specially-formulated UV gel to build up damaged or fungal nails.”

Initial appointments include a full medical history and foot assessment so Jean can tailor treatment to individual needs.

Treatments for single specific problems are also available. Prices for the initial assessment sessions are just £25 if taken at the clinic or £28 in a client’s home.

Jean also has a 20 per cent discount offer on all appointments booked at the clinic in July.

She can be contacted at her website at www.freshfootsteps.co.uk, by calling her on 07443 590502 or email [email protected].
