Clare Teal’s Mini Big Band concerts are becoming renowned across the country for their energetic exuberance and for offering audiences evenings of unbridled entertainment.
Backed by a spectacular band of first rate musicians, award winning jazz singer and BBC Radio 2 presenter Clare provides an evening of toe tapping big band and swing songs which appeal to all.
Clare and her band play an ever evolving and rich mix of material whether in homage to the big band greats of the swing era or looking forward with new arrangements of more contemporary classics and originals – and always featuring star players of the British jazz scene.
Clare’s shows often rejoice in her love of the Great American Songbook and more recently the Great British Songbook, and offer a rich mix of songs from many eras.
Clare firmly believes that many contemporary songs can benefit from the big band treatment.
So, unexpected jewels can be heard alongside swing standards, along with some of Clare’s own impressive compositions.
