Jan realises her dream to open a flower shop

After years in retail Jan Vertigan has realised her lifelong dream of opening her own flower shop.
When the Pick of the Bunch florists closed in Crowland in December after trading for more than 20 years, Jan saw her chance.
She had trained as a florist after leaving school and had continued it as a hobby ever since while working in retail, including most recently Spalding’s Marks and Spencer.
Now she has opened the old Pick of the Bunch shop up as Janflora in South Street, selling beautiful fresh flowers, cards and gifts.
The name of the new shop was the inspiration of Jan’s mum Lorna Munton.
Jan said: “This is a dream turned into reality for me.
“We will be offering floristry for all occasions and I hope to take on a part-time member of staff soon.
“The shop has received a major makeover and now also incorporates a lovely selection of gifts and cards.
“Having worked in retail for years, I fully appreciate the value of great customer care and ensuring the products are good value for money.”
Janflora offers a free delivery service around Crowland and Jan hopes people will pop in and have a browse if they are passing.
