A man well known to police for persistent offending has been jailed following more offences.
Matthew Dye (32), of Spalding, was sentenced to 12 months in prison and given a three-year driving ban at Boston Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, July 26 after being found guilty of several charges.
The court heard Dye stole power tools to the value of £150 from a shop in Westlode Street, Spalding on June 24, between July 13 and 15 was in possession of a stolen Seat Leon car and drove while disqualified, and was found to be in possession of the class B drug amphetamine on July 15.
He also damaged a toilet cell while in custody at Boston Police Station.
Spalding Police inspector Gareth Boxall, said: “I am proud of the hard work of our officers in collecting all the evidence required to convict this man.
“South Holland will be free from his crimes for several months.
“My hope is that he takes up the help that will be offered to him on release to address whatever motivated him to commit these offences.”
