Jackson backed to impress as he joins Holbeach United’s coaching staff

Influential left-back Adam Jackson has been appointed player/coach at Holbeach United.

Jackson, who re-joined the Tigers from Spalding United mid-way through last season, will join boss Seb Hayes and assistant boss Tim Cole on the management team.

A multiple-time ChromaSport UCL Premier Division title winner, Hayes is backing the Holbeach native to have a big impact in his new role.

“It’s something Adam wanted to do,” said the Tigers boss. “I think it was in his mind when he came back here, if I’m honest.

“He’ll be involved with the warm-ups and taking training and will go some way to filling the void after Daz Edey left last season.

“Ever since he came back here, he has had a massive influence in the dressing room. He offers plenty of input and has good ideas.

“He is well liked and well respected by the lads and, from my point of view, I see him as a friend now.

“He’d already committed to stay here next season, so this isn’t me pushing the boat out to keep him.

“He’s somebody that has the club at heart and it’s nice to keep that Holbeach element to the management team.

“I know that he had big offers to go elsewhere this summer, but Adam seems to keep coming back here. I think he’s happy to stay now and learn his way in coaching and what will come next for him after playing.

“Personally, I feel it’s a very positive move for the club and I’m delighted that Adam is buying into what we’re trying to do here.”

Jackson won the UCL Premier Division title with Holbeach in 2013 and Spalding United the following year.
