It’s a small world for miniaturist

A dolls house and teddy bear enthusiast from Spalding will set up stall in the Birmingham NEC at the weekend when she exhibits her handiwork at Miniatura – an expo for miniaturists.

Christine ‘Kit’ Meggitt will also be teaching at the expo, something she also does locally.

She has been “collecting seriously” for 25 to 30 years, she said. “I had my first doll’s house at six, which was sold from under me by my mother when I was at college.”

Kit then worked to replace it – in spades. “It’s a passion that grows with you for life,” she said.

She is currently working on a series incorporating puns, with each piece taking three weeks to complete.

Her work comes under the Dolly’s Daydreams banner, and she was once part of a club in Spalding.

Anyone interesting in reforming the club can call Christine on 01775 710053.
