The remains of a cannabis grow have been discovered at a Pinchbeck bungalow destroyed by fire yesterday (Monday, July 29).
Lincolnshire Police were in attendance at the bungalow this morning and were monitoring details of anyone who turned up there.
A police spokesman said: “On further inspection, the remnants of a cannabis grow were discovered, and it is suspected that the building had been used to grow and harvest cannabis.
“The electricity had been bypassed and that was made safe.
“Nobody is reported to have been injured in the fire, and our investigation is ongoing into the grow and the people behind it.
“We would encourage anyone with information about this, or other, cannabis grows to come forward by calling 101 and quoting incident 428 of 29 July if you have information about this fire, or make a general report if you have other intelligence which might help us to stamp out drugs in our community.”
At least six fire and rescue vehicles were in attendance.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said crews from Spalding, Kirton and Crowland attended.
“There was severe damage by fire to fencing and one bungalow and its contents,” a spokesman said. “It was extinguished using an aerial ladder platform, two hose reel jets, a main jet and breathing apparatus.
“The cause is believed to be hot ashes being placed close to fencing igniting fence and spreading to the bungalow and is still under investigation.”
