International cat show first

Spalding is to host its fur-st ever International Cat Show this month.

The TiCats and Cakes Cat Club will feature judges from across the world and will support local charities.

Held at Spalding Grammar School on the weekend of November 16/17, the event is hotly anticipated by Claire Winman, Show Manager and Club President of TiCats & Cakes Cat Club.

Claire said: “This is the first time we’ve run an international cat show in Spalding and we’re really excited about introducing the world of cat showing to the local population.

“With cats from across Europe and judges from around the globe, this truly will be an International affair.”

As well as being a mecca for cat fans, it will also benefit the community. Claire said: “We’re delighted to be supporting two local charities; Agape Foodbank and Lincs Ark Animal Rescue, this is our way of giving something back to our local area, where we live and work too.

“Doors will be open from 10am to 4pm on both days and we look forward to welcoming as many visitors as possible.

“Come over, see the cats and have some fun with a bunch of slightly daft cat breeders and showers.”

Judges have been invited from Argentina, Austria and America.

There’s a large variety of categories and entry is still open, closing on Tuesday, November 5.

Visit http://www.ticatsandcakes.org.uk to see how you and your feline friend can get involved, as well as to see the full run-down of the weekend’s activities.

Public entry to the event costs £5 adults / £3 children, reduced by £2 each if you donate two non-perishable food items for cats or people.
