In Bloom judges visit town

Long Sutton was looking blooming marvellous last week as East Midlands In Bloom judges descended on the town.

It proved a somewhat soggy visit, but the visitors were still left impressed with the floral displays created by the dedicated volunteers.

Kay Jenkinson chair of Long Sutton In Bloom, said: “John Constable the East Midlands in Bloom judge was impressed with our town displays and our community gardens.

“I must say that Long Sutton looked as good as it possibly could, especially as last year was the first time in 30 years we had not hung baskets.

“Everyone is so happy to see the colour back in town.

“The support we get from the parish and district councils, also the town traders, makes it all happen.

“We couldn’t do it without them.

“It has been a great team effort and we have a great team.”
