Hundreds attend latest South Holland Jobs Fair

Nearly 600 people attended a jobs fair which proved popular with both businesses and job-hunters.

South Holland Jobs Fair, which is organised by the district council and The Department for Work and Pensions saw a host of businesses and organisations at the Castle Sports Complex in Spalding on Tuesday.

And 586 people, up from around 550 last year, attended the event to speak to employers, advisors and trainers from a range of industries.

Among those who attended was SHDC’s portfolio holder for wealth and commerce, Coun Nick Worth, who said: “I was delighted to see there was an impressive array of businesses offering with a number of jobs and vital advice.

“When the doors opened a steady number of people came through and it was great to see so many enthusiastically engaging with the businesses.

“You could see they were really interested in hearing about the jobs and opportunities that are on offer locally, and interested to see how these could help them.

“Hopefully it was a really useful experience for all of those who attended.”
