House fires on U3A agenda

Spalding and District U3A had an entertaining but serious talk from Spalding Fire and Rescue Service.
Members were told how electrical fires are a problem in Lincolnshire and were advised not to leave electrical appliances running at night, such as phone chargers and washing machines.
The group’s next monthly meeting is at Surfleet Village Hall on Thursday, March 3. Doors open at 1.30pm. Christine Adams will tell the story of “Miss Saville moves her house”, which is about how her aunt moved her house, brick by brick from Hertfordshire to Norfolk. The story is to be made into a film.
