Homes plans for Donington run-down ex-hotel site and in Crowland

Housing developments on the downtrodden Red Cow Hotel site in Donington and in Peterborough Road, Crowland, are poised for planning consent tonight (Wednesday, Nov 30).

Market Homes proposed 31 new homes on the derelict Red Cow Hotel site, which has been closed for around 15 years, and to demolish the tap bar.
The listed coach house would be converted into 18 flats; four flats created in a two-storey development in the centre of the site and nine flats in a three-storey building in the corner of the site.

In Crowland, it was recommended to ask Seagate Homes to contribute £85,799 towards primary education and £149,313 towards open space and recreation provision for children as part of its plan to build 41 homes in Peterborough Road. In addition eight “affordable” homes should be included, a report said.

The development is planned on a mix of vacant brownfield and greenfield land.

South Holland District Council’s planning committee is to consider both applications.
