Home-Start volunteers help area’s families

Volunteers who help a charity which supports struggling families were invited to a coffee and catch-up event to thank them for their contribution.
Home-Start South Holland relies on its volunteers to help families who have at least one child aged under 11 who are finding it hard to cope for a variety of reasons, such as disability, isolation, family bereavement or financial worries.
All volunteers undergo free training to prepare them for their role, which sees them matched with a family in need where they help to transform lives.
They got together at Caffe Aurora in Holbeach, where they had the chance to indulge in coffee and cake and share their experiences with other volunteers.
Home-Start South Holland is always looking for new volunteers.
If you are a good listener, have parenting experience and can spare three hours a week – whatever your age – Home-Start South Holland is currently recruiting volunteers for its next training course.
Anyone interested in becoming a home-visiting volunteer can contact 01406 701720 or email [email protected].
