Holbeach widow hears Normandy Veterans’ service relayed to her from France

This is the moment when Normandy Veterans’ champion Harold Payne relayed a service to the widow of Holbeach veteran Philip Milton.

Mr Payne, of The Anglia Motel in Fleet, phoned her from Ver sur Mer so that she could hear the event held in his memory.

He also handed over Mr Milton’s medals to go on display.

Mr Payne said: “His wish was that his medals were given to the museum there.”

The party of 20 on this year’s annual trip included five veterans.
Next year Mr Payne wants to open the trip up to anyone who is interested.
